Summary: The article examines the impact of innovative activity of a business entity on the state of its competitiveness in the agro-industrial complex. The essence of the innovative activity of agricultural enterprises in the agro-industrial complex is highlighted, its features and key differences are revealed. The problems of the external environment affecting the implementation of innovative technologies at agricultural enterprises, in particular at the state level in terms of the implementation and development of an effective mechanism for stimulating the development of innovative activities, are highlighted. Particular attention was paid to the identification of «green» innovative approaches that contribute to increased productivity without harming the environment.
